15 Barock-Duos

Compared to other instrumentations for string chamber music, especially string quartets, string duos tend to lead a shadowy existence. Yet the duo formation is an ideal introduction to the world of chamber music for anyone learning an instrument. Fabian Payr and Ruth Bamberger have selected 15 suitable harpsichord works from the Baroque period and arranged them for two string instruments. The easily playable duo pieces are particularly suitable as literature for instrumental lessons, but also as repertoire for student concerts. They encourage the study of baroque performance practice and promote the often neglected aspect of chamber music ensemble playing.
