Aufgrund seiner Vielseitigkeit ist es sowohl als Schlag- als auch als Resonanzfell einsetzbar. Ebenfalls sehr beliebt ist das G1 in der Coated-Version auch als Snarefell, da es ohne Dämpfung einen sehr offenen Snaresound produziert.
