Description
The Double Down Crash Ride by Matt Halpern is a versatile, dynamic, hand-hammered cymbal that can be played as a ride or crash. It also has a powerful, eye-catching bell that cuts through even in a full band mix. As it opens up quickly, it is a fantastic choice for crashed sounds, but also individual crash accents.
The combination of the dark, unpolished finish on the top and the polished underside also creates a perfect combination of sustain and control. In addition, the light sandblasting on the top reduces the overtones, resulting in the shorter sustain.
'I wanted a cymbal that was extremely dynamic and loud enough to cut through the powerful sound of Periphery, but with a quick decay so as not to drown out the voice or other instruments at live gigs. I've used it at gigs, in studios of different sizes and in different genres and can safely say it has delivered exactly what I was hoping for in all cases.' - Matt Halpern
