Description
"Orgelmusik zur Weihnachtszeit" is the start of a new selection edition that accompanies the course of the church year. The series brings together well-known and unjustly forgotten free and liturgical organ works from the entire 19th century. The pieces are technically easy to moderately difficult and are aimed equally at part-time and full-time church musicians, organists and music teachers.
The first volume focuses on the most festive melodies of the Advent and Christmas season - including "Silent Night, Holy Night", "Daughter of Zion, Rejoice", "From Heaven Above", "O Thou Merry" and "A Rose has Sprung". The arrangements are by composers of the early and late Romantic period, such as Arnold Mendelssohn, Max Gulbins and Heinrich von Herzogenberg.
This volume thus offers a colorful selection of organ music for Christmas services, festive evening music or concert performances during the Advent season.
