Sibelius Konzert D minor op 47

A Masterpiece of the Violin Repertoire

Jean Sibelius’ Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47, is one of the most significant and popular violin concertos of the 20th century. Dark Nordic timbres, sweeping melodies, and a highly virtuosic solo part combine to create a work of extraordinary expressiveness.

The passionate first movement, Allegro moderato, is followed by a heartfelt Adagio di molto. The rhythmically striking finale, Allegro, ma non tanto, demands great technical mastery, power, and interpretive presence from the soloist.

This edition from Robert Lienau Musikverlag contains the revised version from 1905 as a piano score with solo part. It is suitable for study, instruction, rehearsals, and concert preparation.
