On the 31st August 1970, as the finale to a series of shows Jimi
Hendrix took to the stage for what would sadly be his last UK
performance, coming just eighteen days before his untimely death. It
was one of the great performances of all time, an hour of pure genius
and guitar perfection. This was Jimi at his most fascinating, the
ultimate guitarist playing what would become the legendary Isle of
Wight set.
