Eines der bekanntesten Ballette Prokofiews, "neben Romeo und Julia“, ist „Cinderella“, op. 87, auch als „ Aschenputtel “ oder „ Soluschka “ genannt. Es besteht aus drei Akten in sieben Bildern und sechs Dekorationen.
Ein märchenhaftes und fantasievolles Ballett, das Prokofjews charakteristische Kompositionsweise zu Gehör bringt, und das immer wieder weltweit gespielt wird und nichts von seinem Reiz verloren hat.
